Keith Armbruster : Instructor, Competitor & Judge
Keith played minor league baseball until injuries forced him to retire and began dancing as an adult less than 12 short years
ago. He recently retired from over 17 years in the Architectural industry as a Senior Technologist and Project Coordinator to
follow his passion and teach dance full time.
He met his now wife Jena in 1999 and began his competitive country career with her in 2001. They remained undefeated as
amateurs in competition winning one North American Title and 8 World Championship titles. After graduating to the professional
divisions in 2005, Keith & Jena became the 2009 Open 8 Dance Professional World Champions making this their
9th United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC) World Championship Title and elevating them to having earned the most World
Championships by any Couple in Canadian history.
As a competitor, teacher and certified UCWDC judge he is dedicated to continuously upgrading his knowledge and skills.
He believes that dancing is good for the mind, body & spirit. As a professional instructor, his unique, fun and informative
teaching style provides students with the exact mixture of understanding to allow them to accelerate their dance !!
Keith and Jena continue to compete in the Classic Masters Division and together they are the proud Event Directors of the
Calgary Dance Stampede, and the
Extreme Swing Weekend, both held annually in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
They were also cast as professional dance extras in the Academy award winning movie "Brokeback Mountain (2005)".
