Kim Donaghy: Instructor & Judge
Kimberly has been a Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor since 1980. For 18 of those years she was the Professional Instructor for the University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club. She also taught dance for the Phys Ed departments at many Senior and Junior High Schools in the City of Calgary.
As a competitor she participated in both American and International Style. Her focus was International Latin where she was a Semi-Finalists at the Canadian Closed Championships. In 2005 she was the World Champion in the Diamond Showcase Division at the World Country and Western Dance Championships in Nashville.
She also had a performance troupe called the “New Country Dancers”. The troupe performed at many events throughout the city. A memorable highlight was doing music videos with “Tom Jackson” and performing as a “New Country Dancer” at the “Jubilee Auditorium”. Kim was also fortunate enough to get a few parts as a dancer in movies and T.V. shows.
She has spent the last several years adjudicating dance competitions in Western Canada and coaching other professionals in International Style. She is a Certified Judge with the CDF in both American and International Style.
Currently, Kim is teaching Ballroom and Latin Dance at Free House Dance Studio, but most importantly is very excited to be teaching Burlesquercise for Diva Di. She is a happily married wife and mother of three children.
