Class Levels
DancEnergy offers up to 3 levels of group classes, depending on the dance.
Our Level 1 classes are open to everyone. We want for everyone to enjoy dancing with their
partners in class, so participation in Levels 2 and higher does require instructor approval. This way we know
everyone is ready for the level of material that will be taught. Every studio has different class level structures
- so if you have had previous instruction elsewhere, we encourage you to schedule a complimentary private introductory
session with one of our instructors to see which of our levels will be the best fit for you.
- Level One is recommended to take at least 2 to 3 times
- Level Two is recommended to take at least 3 to 4 times
- Level Three is ongoing
Once you are in the higher levels you are encouraged to continue attending lower level classes for practice, and to
cheer on the new dancers just getting started!
Level 1: For beginners and those who would like to brush up on their basics.
In level 1 classes, you will learn the basic rhythm and patterns of the dance. Each month is the same level of difficulty,
but teaches slightly different variations. You must complete level 1 at least twice and receive instructor approval
before advancing to level 2.
Level 2: For intermediate dancers who have a solid understanding of the material and concepts taught in Level 1.
Level 2 is recommended to take at least 3 to 4 times (depending on the dance) where you will learn new material each
session. Many individuals attend level 2 classes for a year or more before they are ready for level 3 classes. You must
complete level 2 at least 3 times before advancing to level three.
Level 3: For intermediate/advanced dancers who have a solid understanding of the material and concepts taught in Level 2.
Level 3 is ongoing sessions where you will learn new material each month.
